A fresh start for this little corner of the internet

I rebuilt my website from the ground up with Astro. It felt like a good opportunity to think again about what belongs here, how it’s organised, and how it feels to spend a little time with it.

Most of this site is work and writing. Moving from Next.js to Astro gave that a simpler foundation: static pages, with JavaScript added where an interaction needs it. That felt like a sensible fit for what I’m making.

The design follows the same thinking. Give the words room. Keep the structure clear. Pay attention to typography, spacing, and the small responses that make something feel considered. I still enjoy a little movement and personality. Those details are part of why I like making things for the web.

A personal site also gives me somewhere to explore how design and code come together. The distance between imagining an interaction and trying it in the browser is useful territory to spend time in.

For now, this is the version I’m putting out into the world. I’ll keep writing here, adding work, and probably adjusting the spacing.
